Details – Dancing With Cicadas EP
The title of the EP refers directly to the characteristic sound of cicadas, which naturally create a sonic event in a love serenade. In many places on earth, their sound marks the beginning of summer. In “Tapupaya Bush” the sounds of tropical nature harmoniously form a whole with ethnic percussion and timidly appearing cicadas. “Dancing with Cicadas” fully resonates the appearance of these harmless insects with a tribal interpretation of timbala drums. The whole is complemented by ambient equatorial mysticism. “Jaguar Warior” is a duel of male cicadas to the rhythm of sinusoidal intensity by modular imitation of jew’s harps, accompanied by another tropical chatter. The last track “Shapishico” is the ritual culmination of a natural selection, where the bravest are rewarded with the chanting of a deep mesmeric drone. Dancing with Cicadas EP is an important contribution in the history of modern tribal sounds.
